Warriors and peasants alike, the battlefields of Aurora Realm beckon you. Reading this specific section of guidance could mean the difference between you embracing that glorious freedom.. or remaining a living being. You shall soon realize that knowing -how- to fight shall be the difference between pain and pleasure. This guide.. will grow to be your best friend, your only friend.. the only one that you shall trust. Keep it close to your heart.. read, breathe, and live this book. It, and it alone, shall be the deciding factor when the time comes for you to twist the knife into your most hated foe's heart.. to take his life, or to die in humility by the same sword that claimed your loved ones. In the following pages you shall find "wells of knowledge", each "well" will teach you certain combat styles. With each style learned you become that little bit more deadly to any foe you may have. Be sure to draw knowledge delicately from these "wells", they have been carefully prepared for you, the reader, and I emplore you to thoroughly read them. Read until your eyes burn and your tongue is dry from liking your thumb and turning pages. Keep these pages close to your heart and on the top of your head. If at any time you feel rusty on the rules, return here and draw once again on the "wells". At times this knowledge will be the only thing standing between your death........And your enemy.

Out of Character (OOC) vs. In Character (IC) During Combat

This specific section deals with the concept of OOC in an IC fight. In all honesty, if you -really- wanted to, you could just move in and out of character throughout an entire fight. The catch is, if you leave a fight, or if you travel OOC.. the fight still goes on.

Even if you may not "Technically" be there.. your opponent still has the right to mangle, diablerize, or just plain out kill you. Here's a little hint boys and girls: Don't go OOC during a fight unless you're just lookin' to get your tail whipped.

Important - Read the Rules!

Hello there fellow citizen! It's time you learned some of the keys of basic survival in Aurora Realm. Just to refresh your memory, your surrounding are Un-corrupted, for the most part, and a new leader has emerged. If you're smart, you'd already know that the times are rough, especialy starting a new empire.. and that your life could be taken at any time from the rebel clans who oppose it. I've just received orders from the big guy to be distributed to all citizens of Aurora Realm. In essence, if you follow these rules.. you make our lives easy, and you make your own easier.. and most likely a bit longer than that it's lookin' right now. Alright... so let's being, shall we? First off, and most important, we'll talk about how to fight. Now, in Aurora Realm, there are certain procedures you must insure to take while challenging your foe. If you don't follow these procedures, the fight won't proceed in any noteable fashion. Basically, when you challenge a Someone to a fight, you gotta' run through a certain number of things.

The defender chooses the style.

If you're not sure of the styles available, take a gander at the Combat Tutorial. You can choose from these various styles, and if you think you have another style to be used, email the details to Jasmine herself at Cattleya-Labiata@Hotmail.com That's right citizen, the big girl herself will take a looksie at your style if you have any question on it. Once again, I can't stress enough how important it is for your opponent to choose the style. However, there is an exception. If your opponent attacks in a specific style, and then you defend in that style.. well, I hate to say it, but you just chose yourself the style. That's right, if you defend in the style that your opponent attacks in, before establishing a set style, the style your opponent attacked in becomes the set style. One last thing though, let's say someone walks up to you.. and takes a swing at you. You're not just going to stand there like a little Girl are you? Hell no! You're gonna' either run your little legs off, or you're gonna' sock the stuffin' out of 'im. Just keep that in mind when yer' knockin' the socks offa' that chump that stole yer' ale.

Registration! It's Important!

Please, for the love of God, register yer'self as a citizen in Aurora Realm. Without us keeping a record of you.. noone will care, or know what you're up to. If you die, without being registered, noone will care. Thing is.. if you -are- registered, we can send a letter to your family.. or even bury you. In other words, registering yourself is needed.. if you ever want to defend yourself, or exact revenge.. so let's get on that, ok?
