Default fighting style At present time, Aurora Realm does not have a Default fighting style/system. T1 and T2 are both specifically for Aurora Realm, yes, but it is just another option. Not a law.
Room kills are very much illegal within Aurora Realm. Why? The Defender chooses style law come into play here. Asking every person within the room which style they choose is preposterous at best, and comical in the least. Don't try it, it's definitely NOT legal.
Realm kills are also very much illegal for the same reason as above. First the offender would have to be registered within Aurora Realm, and at best guess, any character with the power to destroy a whole realm would very much be considered a Power Character by our standards. Next, he or she would have to ask the entire populous of Aurora Realm citizens what style they would choose. Not very likely to happen, and again, NOT legal.
How to efficiently do a style choice? Some players Do actions to pick, but depending on the situation at hand, a P2P would be best. Always keep your eyes open for an attack if you're the defender, and a note to attackers, be polite enough to ASK also. If the person isn't paying attention properly to what's going on, P2P them or do something to gain their attention to the fight at hand. For note, if the defender immediately dodges with the same style attacked by, this states his or her willingness to participate in the battle by those rules. Also, brush up on your fighting style knowledge. We've provided the basics for TurnBased (T1), and SpeedBased (T2), but there are others out there. Do some research if you can, or ask your opponent to provide a link where you can learn. Side note to this: If there is no reaction at all, you very well may be on ignore, they may have lost net connection or are away from their chat screen.
Ignore in regards to combat. If you get no response from the party attacked, that could be the reason why. No one can specify why a player would ignore another, but if it happens pre-fight, there is nothing you can do. Don't argue with the person that ignored your character, just let it go. As these petty arguments cause a great disruption to the rooms and are unpleasant to witness, as well as participate in. There are however exceptions to this rule - one being ignoring someone after the fight has already started. If Style's chosen, and the fight is in progress and one party clicks ignore on the other, The ignored person may then, legally, continue the fight and kill your character. Another exception is the person sees the attack coming, states something about it, and then ignores your character. This does happen. If your character has a perfectly good RP based reason to attack the other ( A Question in itself which could always be debatable ) then you may choose style on your own, and continue the attack and possibly kill the other character. It's best to never ignore an attacker or "would be" attacker. There are always ways to legally escape or flee from a fight, which we'll touch on further down the page. As well as the simple fact that once the terms are made, none can be changed after the first attack or opening has been given. Such things that can't be changed would be, time limit for response, certain majicks used, certain weapons, number of weapons, etc.
Disconnects, Lag. Hey, we all know computers seem to misbehave at the most inappropriate moments, not much can be done about it. If you're computer malfunctions during a fight, do your best to return to it as soon as possible. If you can't, for whatever reasons, make SURE to contact the person you were fighting with to schedual a rematch and explain your circumstances. We all know real life takes priority over RP, so with that stated, most frequent combatants are lenient when it comes to such matters and will take you up on the offer of a rematch. Lagging follows the same general rule, explain to the person you're fighting what's wrong, and schedual a rematch for a later time. An exception to this is: if your in the middle of a fight, see you are losing, and just hit that little x on the chat screen to leave with no explanation afterwards. Your opponent does have the right to continue the fight then, as if your character was still there and possibly kill him or her. This is what's known as the "Auto-death" rule. Remember there can always be ways to evade, escape, or flee from a fight.
Evading, Escaping, and Fleeing. Don't like how the fight is turning out and want to get your character out safe and sound in a legal way? There are a few ways to handle this. In a T1 based bout, use your mind as best you can, examine your surroundings closely for any means out and go for it. If it works or not is entirely up to you and your opponent's skills. If it's a T2/Speed based fight, it requires 3 lines minimum to legally get your character out of the general area/room. There are also magical and other means to cloak oneself from view. An excellent way to handle evasion of combat. Be warned though, there are nearly always ways to counter such invisibility, and you can never be sure what your opponent can do in retaliation.
Healing during combat. In the speed based forms, this simply is not a possibility. If your character is hurt badly enough, make an escape and perform the needed spells, disciplines, or medical aid on him/her. Be sure to take in account how many wounds were given and the severity of each before healing can begin. During a Turn Based bout, the same applies. Remember the continual motion your character is in during a turn based fight would render a healing act useless. If you take the time to heal, more then likely your opponent will take that chance to attack again, rending the healing null and void. Always remember to keep track of the damage done to your character as it is accumulative.
